Connie Rea has taught in a dance studio setting for more than 40 years, including ownership of Centre Stage on Main for 18 years. With a UNC-Greensboro BFA and a BS degree in dance and dance education, she was awarded "Teacher of the Year" at Western High School (producing numerous musicals) where she taught dance and theatre and after 23 years - retired to place more focus on the studio. She taught show tap at Elon University and has served as a choreographer for various theatrical companies.
Cherie Bower plays a major role in the development of our dancers' ballet skills. She has taught at various universities in the past and is currently at Elon University and has been for 15 years. Cherie was a member of the renoun Agnes de Mille company and spent much of her professional dancing career traveling and residing in NYC. Her Elon students praise her as a very caring, committed instructor and a woman of character. We couldn't agree more.
Katelyn Hardy has been teaching for Centre Stage since the doors were opened. She received her degree in Economics from ECU where she was on the ECU Dance Team. She was a competitive dancer at an early age and in high school acted as co-captain on the WAHS dance team. Katelyn has received numerous choreography awards including performing in Little Pink Houses of Hope. She is a teacher at Grace Christian Academy where her two boys attend. Katelyn teaches all styles at Centre Stage.
